Coffee, cars, bikes and housing were on the agenda at our successful event on 4th June. The event was in honour of a dear freind and colleague Ian Winslett. It was a unique gathering of like-minded individuals who share a passion for cars, bikes and social issues. This year's event was dedicated to raising funds for two important charities - The Pancreaticn Cancer Research fund and St Basils.
Snowdrop Day and Walk at Leamington Hastings on 12th February was enjoyed by so many. It was lovely to see the church full of happy people both local and from further afield. Our diverse stalls really added to the whole ambiance. Thank you from the Friends of All Saints Church, Leamington Hastings to all that supported the event. We had over 500 adults and children visit our village and join us at the Church for refreshments and to browse the many stalls. We raised in the reagion of £2400 for the fabrication of the Church.
This year our village residents have come together to celebrate two events during the summer.
Our first event was to celebrate the The Queens Jubilee and was marked with a village picnic on Sunday 5th June. We were planning to picnic outside in the Church orchard/car park, however due to the adverse weather we were lucky enough to be able to transfer to inside the Church. Tables were set up and beautifully decorated with flags and bunting and we all brought our own picnic food and drink to share. We held two competitions; the best hand made crown and the best decorated home made cake. This was an excellent and enjoyable afternoon for all 84 people who attended.
Our second event was the annual Village residents party, (also included were a few ex-residents who hold Leamington Hastings in their hearts), held in the evening of August 27th which was also very well attended and blessed with good weather. A small donation was requested to cover the barbeque food and everyone was asked to bring a salad or a pudding to share. There were some delicious salads and puddings so thank you to everyone who contributed.
A very big thank you to all who helped stage the above events and especially Katie and Joy who put many hours into making both parties such fun. Thank you to those who set up and put away all the tables, chairs etc and to the Fisher family for sharing their beautiful garden with us for the Village residents party.
Our last event for this year has been the POP UP Coffee Shop organised by the Friends of All Saints on Saturday 1st October. Excellent cakes and a refreshing cuppa were enjoyed by all and £128.20 was raised. Thanks go to all who helped and baked for the event.
